I guess for me Grad is just… lacking the fun stuff that would excuse rails. Most of the time I was kinda bored or confused. A lot of the big podcasts these days (NADDPOD, Dimension 20) have all three, the mechanics are on point, the story and characters are great and every episode is fun to listen to. But the mechanics are actively bad and the story is demonstrably bad and the ‘fun’ is the only leg of the tripod that has been limping this whole arc forwards – but the goof ratio is a lot lower than previous arcs.
