Official 3rd Grade Peace Love Shirt

I actually treated myself to some fancy chocolates a week or two ago because they sounded good and it was a very nice, quiet treat that was just for me. I got a few hours to Official 3rd Grade Peace Love Shirt and it was a nice little recharge. It’s so hard to do sometimes, because we put everyone else first. Just remember that if everyone else turns to you for advice, support, empathy and care, then you must be awfully good at it…so when you need it, you can do the same! It helps me to address myself in the third person. “Well, Gaelyn, here’s the problem….what should I do?” Almost as though I was someone else coming to me for whatever it is I need. And I address myself that same way, with the advice or gift or compassion or whatever it is that I would do for anyone else.

This doesn’t mean I don’t still turn to someone else for what I need…but I sort of give myself permission to get it, whether it’s a hug, Pizza for dinner instead of the meatloaf and sides I was Official 3rd Grade. The reality is that internally that couldn’t be further from the truth. The weird part for me though is that I generally don’t like people. I don’t seek out companionship or need social interaction often. Yet I still have this constant desire to want to volunteer or help people in some way.
