I usually ask to tell them to measure half an ounce then charge for the full ounce. As you said, I’m not looking to nickel and dime them. I never skimp on hops. The black patent malt will give it a darker color, and the special roast has a specific character that supplements the beer. Without it you probably would miss ‘depth’ in flavor, adding too much of it will make it too overpowering in roast flavor. Then it’s really a nice shirt for all men and women.
