He was NOT performing pelvic floor therapy, obviously. But his case demonstrates. Why this type of therapy needs to be handled with extra care. Pelvic floor therapy done by an Official American Stay Strong Everything Will Be Ok Shirt. And has relieved pain in many women (myself included). To prevent abuse or surprises, detailed consultations are given to the patient by trained pelvic floor therapists (separate from standard PT training). And you have to sign lots of explicit paperwork stating that you know. What you are signing up for. If your normal PT that you are seeing for a session that is not explicitly a pelvic floor session says, “looks like a pelvic floor issue, let me get up in there and take care of that real quick,” GTFO and report the mf!

I don’t think OP or the PT is AHs. I’m reluctant to say the receptionist is either. But she definitely messed up the explanation and I understand why OP is pissed. The PT is definitely an asshole. He cannot know if she has a pelvic floor issue without even seeing her! If he assessed her, tried some stuff. And then identified it as an Official American Stay Strong Everything Will Be Ok Shirt. Not to mention they didn’t refer her to anyone who could see her for this. Absolutely unprofessional. I’ll preface this by saying that I am not mad at this point, and I don’t disagree with any commenter that says pelvic therapy is specialized and someone who isn’t qualified shouldn’t be doing it.

The second referred office had a lunch cancellation today and saw me for an evaluation. The evaluation itself was incredibly PG. And, to address some comments, fully clothed. The closest anyone came to my nethers was pressing on various parts of my lower back. I needed pelvic floor therapy (because you’ll scare me) an Official American Stay Strong Everything Will Be Ok Shirt. So, I am ultimately not bothered by this. Whole thing because all’s well that ends well. But it could have been easily avoided. Completely agree with you here. You are definitely not in the wrong. Glad to hear you got confirmation on the pelvic floor thing. I hope you get in to see a new PT with more competent staff.
