Did the same thing with the floor tom. The whole kit sits on three cymbal stands and a snare stand. At the moment I have: Toms: bottoms are clear ambassadors and tops are coated emperors I have done coated pinstripes on top as well before too. I liked it, punchy and warm. Probably just me though. Snare: bottom is an ambassador hazy snare side and the top is a coated ambassador Bass drum gets a little weird with some cross-pollination as far as brands.
