When I was a kid I wrote to Mad Magazine to let them know I had been waiting for several months for my Funny Fred Sanford Shirt. They sent me an apology and a massive box of Mad and other comics. It felt so good. Even when I was recently young, 2003 or so, I would write companies. Usually candy companies with some sort of idea I had for a candy they could make. Companies were really good about responding. The Willy Wonka Company (Nestle?) sent me a ton of coupons for free candy – I remember vividly the coupon for the Nerds Rope. I wrote a smaller company with an idea and they sent me an entire retail shelf type of box of. One of their newest candies which was like a licorice-type tube. Filled with a sugary paste in the middle.
Funny Fred Sanford Shirt, Tank Top, V-neck, Sweatshirt and Hoodie

I wish I could remember their name so I could see how they’re doing. I wrote companies a lot and I always looked. Forward to Funny Fred Sanford Shirt. I hope most of them are still responding to kid’s snail mail when they get letters. Apparently Possum Trot was established with federal funds to help diversify industry in Kentucky. It was a community-based company from the beginning and seems like there was no issue letting some heart show through. But then you also get adorable letters like this and then you get to blow some kid’s mind. 6 months sounds like a really quick turnaround for a new product. Launch, so you know they were stoooked. Yeah, if I made toys this is the kinda thing.
