]]> I haven’t met him but my former roommate knows him. They were filming something at her house and Brad did the dishes after lunch. I’d always just assumed celebrities were a bunch of narcissists, Awesome Merry Crisis And A Happy New Fear Shirt were really down-to-earth and nice. On Friday they are driving back to his hotel after a long week and Brad asked the driver what he’s doing that weekend. The driver said that it’s his wife’s birthday, so they are having a big family barbecue on Saturday evening. Brad says that sounds great and wished he was seeing his family this weekend. So the driver says that he’d be welcome to come along if he wanted and gives him his address. Not thinking for a minute that he’d turn up. He nearly always had the same driver. So they got onto first name terms and mundane ‘how’s the family’, ‘did you have a nice weekend’ type conversations.

The next evening, the party’s in full swing and there’s a knock on the door – and there’s Brad Pitt with a shed load of Awesome Merry Crisis And A Happy New Fear Shirt. Harrods and a huge bunch of flowers for the birthday girl. He stays all evening, is the life and soul of the party, chats to anyone who wants to chat, poses for dozens of photos, and even helps to tidy up before he leaves. I was an extra for one scene of War Machine, Where he plays a gruff general, and it was incredible to see him switch from his naturally warm self to the cold. And distant general persona. That movie wasn’t great but his performance was fantastic. If anyone has any interest in the war in Afghanistan I would recommend it. So good. So happy. Thank you so much.
